i'll be going to scotland for a week. I'm leaving this tuesday. I'm going there for my granny's funeral. And based on the circumstances that i'm going for, i feel unusually excited. Anyone care to share my sentiments? anyways, i haven't been there since i was 4. And when you go to a place when you're 4, you hardly remember anything. So this time round, i'm gonna be taking pictures. Plus, i get to see my cousins. Pple that i've never seen before cos they weren't born the last time i was there. It's sad how death Is what's bringing us all together for the first time in ages, but at least granny would've been happy that we're all finally meeting. My granny always said that she'd smoke till the day she died, and she stuck true to her word, she died while smoking. She always said that she won't ever quit smoking cos according to her, all her friends who quit, died. To me, my granny was invincible. She'd fight her way thru everything. Her age was never an issue, her zest for life was contagious. She never held back on humour. And she will always be the wittiest woman i've ever known. She was honest, loving and she never forgot our birthdays. She loved freely, and she was always generous. Her sarcasm, and vulgarities were part of who she was and it was what stood her out of the crowd. It made her special. She was never afraid to speak her mind, nor was she afraid to speak the truth, even if the truth did hurt. She stood at the edge of life, and that's how she lived it. She was awesome till the end and she will continue to be awesome. Her smell, laughter, words, touch, smile, outbursts of temper, love, generousity, wit, humour, beauty, charm and honesty will be missed. She will always be etched in my life, becos without her, i wouldn't have known all there quality she possessed. And i wouldn't have known to pass them on to other pple in my life. She lived well, and to the fullest. And i daresay she left happy and satisfied. Though sudden, the impact she left in all those who knew her, is tremendous. When i grow up, i wanna be just like her.
